Privacy Policy
Effective: 13 September 2026. Fincary is designed around data minimisation and purpose-limited processing.
This Privacy Policy explains how Fincary ("Fincary", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, discloses, retains and protects personal data when you use our website, accounts, subscriptions and tools. Privacy rights vary by jurisdiction; where an applicable law gives you additional rights, those rights apply.
1. Information we collect
We seek to collect only information reasonably necessary to operate Fincary. This may include your Google-authenticated email address and stable account identifier; account, subscription, entitlement and metered-usage records; support or contact messages you choose to send; transaction, payment-status and payment-reference information supplied by a payment provider when payments are enabled; and limited technical, security and diagnostic information such as timestamps, request metadata, IP address or logs where reasonably required for security, fraud prevention, troubleshooting and service operation.
Fincary does not require a customer name, postal address or telephone number for the ordinary Fincary account unless a particular service, payment, tax, legal or regulatory requirement later makes it necessary.
2. Files and financial information processed by tools
When you upload a document or other input to a Fincary tool, the information is processed to perform the function you requested. For the Bank Statement Converter, uploaded statements and generated conversion files are intended to be temporary processing data and are not intentionally retained as permanent customer records after the processing job is completed. Passwords supplied for protected statements are used for processing and are not intended to be permanently stored. Fincary may retain non-content operational records such as whether a conversion succeeded, its timestamp and metered usage.
You should upload only information you are authorised to process and should avoid providing unnecessary personal data.
3. Why we process information
We process information to authenticate users; provide and secure Fincary; perform requested conversions and other tool functions; measure plan usage; administer subscriptions and payments; provide support; prevent abuse, fraud and security incidents; maintain and improve reliability; comply with law; establish or defend legal claims; and communicate material service or policy information.
4. Legal bases and consent
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, processing may be based on performance of a contract or steps requested by you, your consent, compliance with legal obligations, or legitimate interests such as securing and operating the service where those interests are recognised by applicable law. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw consent as permitted by law, without affecting processing already lawfully carried out.
5. Cookies and sessions
Fincary may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for login sessions, security, preferences and core service operation. If non-essential analytics, advertising or similar technologies are introduced later, Fincary will provide any additional notice or choice required by applicable law.
6. Service providers and disclosures
We may disclose information to service providers that help us provide Fincary, such as cloud hosting, database, authentication, email/support, security and payment providers. They may process information only as permitted for the relevant service and subject to their own legal obligations and contractual arrangements. We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with law, lawful process, enforce our terms, protect users or the service, investigate fraud or security incidents, or in connection with a lawful corporate reorganisation, financing, acquisition or transfer of the service.
Fincary does not sell personal data as a business model and does not currently share personal data for cross-context behavioural advertising.
7. International processing
Fincary and its service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we will use legally recognised transfer mechanisms or other appropriate safeguards.
8. Retention
We retain account, subscription, usage, support, security and transaction-related information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including providing the service, maintaining records, resolving disputes, preventing abuse and meeting legal, accounting or regulatory obligations. Temporary tool inputs and outputs are handled according to the processing design described above. Backup copies may persist for a limited period before deletion or overwrite.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the service. No internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting access to your Google account and devices.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live and which law applies, you may have rights to request access to personal data, information about its processing, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, withdrawal of consent, objection to certain processing, or review of certain automated decisions. You may also have rights concerning sale or sharing of personal information, sensitive information, non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights, nomination or authorised representatives, and complaints to a competent data-protection authority.
To make a privacy request, email fincarysupport@gmail.com from the email associated with your Fincary account where possible. We may take proportionate steps to verify identity before acting on a request. Some information may be retained where an exception or legal obligation applies.
11. Children
Fincary is not directed to children and is intended for users legally capable of using the relevant services. We do not knowingly seek to collect children's personal data. If you believe a child has provided personal data contrary to applicable law, contact us.
12. Third-party services
Google authentication, payment providers and links to external websites or services are governed by the relevant third party's terms and privacy practices in addition to any obligations Fincary has regarding information it receives from them.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy as the service, technology or law changes. The current version will be posted here with an updated effective date. Where legally required, we will provide additional notice or seek consent for material changes.
14. Contact and privacy requests
